I attended the "Cycle Chic: Past, Present & Future . . .A Celebration of Dressing for the Destination" fall fashion Show. I mainly attended to see this man in person:
Yes indeed, that is the man himself. The fabulous Mikael Colville-Andersen. The creator of the Original Copenhagen Cycle Chic. The man who inspired me to believe that perhaps even I could ride a bike for transportation, despite my loathing of perspiration. It was lovely to finally get to meet him. Though the meeting did cause a bit of shame on my part for letting life get soooo very in the way of proper blogging. I am working on that. So don't be surprised if you see more posts here now.
So anyway, there was a fashion show:
Having a bachelors degree in fashion design causes me to have strong feeling and opinions about the show. I've watched too many fashion shows bicycle related and not. However I'll just say it was entertaining. I think they were certainly trying to make it seem like people can ride in whatever to wherever they need to go. I do wish though that there had been more bikes in the show. Josef at Flying Pigeon could have certainly helped them out. He's a Rockstar.
What I really enjoyed was seeing all of the people there with their bikes just doing what they need to do. It was brilliant.
Thanks to Women on Bikes SoCal for putting the event together it was great fun. I met some lovely ladies and got to take pictures.
